You know your heart is in the right place when you volunteer to help out with meaningful causes. Well, the Wright Flight program of the Tailwind Aviation Foundation is one of those great causes, and this fund raising event needs your help!
If you’ve ever wanted to get an inside look at general aviation and check out some really unique planes then here’s your chance. Join us Saturday, September 8, 2017 and get inside the fence (no pat-downs, we promise!) and meet pilots, get up close to the planes and experience things most people don’t. Here’s what your day could be like:
Rogers Airport – The Start!
You’ll be helping Saturday morning, making sure coffee and breakfast are ready and preparing for the pilots and passengers. As the participants arrive, you’ll be welcoming them and directing them to the registration area to get checked-in for the event. Some of you will help on the food line serving. Some of you will be helping with the Precision Flight Timing Contest, recording the exact time that each plane departs. After breakfast and a safety briefing the pilots will depart on their cross-country journey.
Those of you working at Rogers will help break-down and clean up. Some of you will want to see this through to the end and we encourage you to stick with us for the day and enjoy! If you do, you’ll help us move to the Bentonville airport for the remainder of the event. Take a look below to see the activity at Bentonville.
Bentonville Airport – The Finish!
You’ll be at it mid-morning, setting up tables and chairs, getting ready for lunch, and preparing for the participants. As the planes arrive, some of you will make sure they get parked safely and you’ll all give them another big welcome and help get them settled in. You’ll help on the food line getting set up and serving. After lunch we will finish the best hand contest and have our awards celebration where we’ll also be hearing from the folks benefiting from the event. Finally, we’ll break-down and clean up in Bentonville.
Sound Like Fun? Do You Want In?
You need to register as soon as possible because this is a first-come, first-served event, even for volunteers. There is no registration fee for volunteers. Aside from the satisfaction of helping out the cause, you will be treated to breakfast and lunch and you will also receive our thanks for helping out!
